I recently sat down with the parents of a middle school student who has survived only in school. When we were done in a thorough testing process, we discovered that has some serious learning problems. His parents told me with regret the pain, which in the past had punished her son and take things because they were told that his poor performance in school is due to "laziness and a behavior problem." He had been well known in business mentoring, was receiving extra help at school and their parents even went so far as to consult a psychiatrist about medication.
Ever seen one of these children who are "lazy?"
Maybe they always have their head on desk. Others just seem to be able to start. Or maybe it just seems tired all the time, moving slowly, running slowly, barely able to muster any energy to recess, physical education, or lunch. When asked about the task, you could say he had no time, or did not have the right book, or even say they simply did not want to do.
When teachers are gone "beyond", done all they can do and the student does not seem to be trying to sloth is often the only conclusion obvious to the left. However …
What we know about is that if students could do the job, they would. Â
It works really doing is shameful, and no student wants to be embarrassed. What is it with these lazy like kids?
These are often the children who have struggled all year, year after year. Laziness is a really easy way to protect your pride to avoid a real learning difficulties. Difficulty learning usually has its roots in one or more areas of ineffective treatment. The brain's ability to process is quite complex and therefore a number of things that could go wrong and interfere with school performance.
The key to these children on the way to identify and strengthen skills based processing. When this is resolved, you can expect three things to bloom … learning, motivation and self-esteem. For more information aboutâ what you can do to treat learning problems, then click here. Â
